Artful watercolour inspiration has been making a splash across the wedding world in recent years.

Subtle watercolour effects paint a pretty picture for any wedding theme and would work wonderfully against the bright sunshiny backdrop of a destination wedding. Today’s styled shoot from onelove photography shows you how to perfectly incorporate hints of pale painted ombre with bolder blocks of colour for a wow-factor wedding.

Start by selecting the soft hues you’d like to use for your watercolour palette and build in paler shades or cheerful hues as a contrast…and voila you have your master piece!

I hardly know where to begin with this shoot! It’s bursting with pops of warm weather brights, every single photograph literally has you longing for the joy of sunshiny days and the whole theme is inspired by travel, globes, maps and summer trips to one of Europe’s most vibrant cities…Amsterdam!

Throw in some seriously-stylish vintage inspiration, a cheerful bicycle or two and a hint of whimsy and you have all the quirky, creative ideas you need for a spectacular destination wedding!

Erin Johnson Photography:

“We LOVE summer travel!  Myself and my husband Paul, have traveled all through Europe and so we decided to pull a bit of inspiration from one of our favorite places – Amsterdam!  There’s just something about riding bicycles on cobblestone streets and of course the tulips.  Mix in our addiction to all things vintage, in this case: vintage luggage, cameras, globes, collected stamps and travel tags and some of our very favorite vendors and you have this little inspiration shoot!  We’re calling it ‘Summer In Amsterdam!’ – ENJOY!”

Wedding Theme Inspiration – Timeless Elegance In Italy

12/01/2015 |

It almost seems like the Amalfi Coast in Italy was made for destination weddings; luxury cliff top hotels with awe-inspiring vistas exude a certain timeless elegance that simply cannot be beaten.

Today’s styled shoot took place at the famous Belmond Hotel Caruso, a former 11th century palace perched high above the picturesque Ravello coastline – destination wedding heaven. Captured beautifully by the gifted Gert Huygaerts Photography, this ethereal wedding theme inspiration is sublime…and no wonder, it was lovingly created by the oh-so-talented Joy Proctor Design.

The wildly romantic setting, the delicate duck egg blue and antique gold palette and the exquisite details throughout this shoot create a stylish backdrop to this elegant and timeless theme.

Wedding Theme Inspiration – New York City At Sunrise

27/10/2014 |

In my opinion there’s no greater time to enjoy a city than at dawn. The magical moments when you can explore and appreciate the cityscape in almost silence, surrounded only by other knowing early birds, just before the city’s dwellers begin to stir and breath life into the streets.

Sasha Chou Photography wisely used the enchanting morning sunrise over the Williamsburg Bridge in New York City as a backdrop for today’s styled shoot. This peaceful time in the city that never sleeps drew a beautifully romantic light, the perfect companion to a vintage theme.

A lace Victoriana dress, an autumnal red rose and jasmine flower crown and a majestic bouquet delivered a creative contrast to the urban setting and produced a delightful fall wedding theme to inspire you.
