Today’s engagement photography epitomises the style of love shoot that I enjoy to share on You Mean The World To Me (and hopefully that means it is the kind that you love to see too!).

Engagement shoots have become so popular in recent years but the ones that really stand out succeed in capturing the essence of the personalities, expresses their individual style, and are set within surroundings that have meaning and represent something of the couple. Of course amazingly artistic photography, unique and characterful locations, and a cool (not to mention beautiful!) couple all helped this engagement shoot to be worthy of the pages of a glossy magazine!

Engagement shoots are a special gift to treasure; they capture the memorable moments before you are wed, but they are also probably your first (and quite possibly your last?) professional photographs of you as a couple, beyond your wedding day pictures. Having relaxed, less formal photos of you as a pair is certainly something to cherish and I’m quite sure that Kaitlyn and Ryan value this stunning shoot of them – by the talented Jen Fairchild – immensely. Anyway, here’s Jen to tell you more…

Happy Thanksgiving!

Giving thanks was, and still is, the primary reason for ceremonies or celebrations across the world. In North America, the Thanksgiving holiday has focused on an expression of gratitude since ancient times when the Native People of North America held festivals to give thanks for successful harvests and in the hope of a good season ahead. In modern times families continue to give thanks for their blessings, good fortunes and other glad tidings.

There are so many great festivities synonymous with Thanksgiving; a great big get-together with your family and friends including a turkey feast with all-the trimmings and enjoying delicious desserts with your nearest and dearest whilst gathered around the TV watching a big game or parade. It’s beginning to sound at lot like Christmas, hey? There are a lot of similarities! So, without suggesting that we full on celebrate this Stateside-holiday today, it’s the intention of thanksgiving that is really appealing and is pleasant to think about today.

Reflecting on the meaning of thanksgiving is a big part of the celebration. It’s a time when families and friends, who might be miles apart throughout the year, spend time together and consider how grateful they are to have each other in their lives.

The idea of a designated day for considering all of the joy and happiness we experience is surely a positive one and so without the need for another family-sized feast (a lot of us in the UK already have plenty coming up!) it is maybe a day just to spend some time reflecting on all the great things we enjoy (and sometimes take for granted) and for being hopeful and enthusiastic about our futures.
