Thailand wedding venue:

Apsara Beachfront Resort and Villa – Khao Lak

Real bride review:

“We first went to Thailand in 2010 when we went travelling around Asia. We absolutely fell in love with the place and knew that if we got married this would be the place to do it!”

“We decided to get married in May 2012 and started planning a ‘typical’ British wedding however it just didn’t feel right and in October 2012 we decided that we wanted to get married in Thailand with a few special friends and family.”

“When we were travelling we had never been to Khao Lak, however we had heard that it was meant to be beautiful so we started to look for hotels in this area. We found Apsara and it looked idyllic – on the beach, secluded and hardly any people around! We knew that this was the place and started to arrange it with the hotel.”

“The wedding planners there were so good – we just communicated through email. It was so easy and they took into consideration what we wanted. We were very lucky as we wanted it to be special but we were not too bothered about the finer details so we just left it with them. It was a wonderful surprise to be handed a bouquet of flowers, have appetizers on the beach and the fire lanterns to set off at night. We are so glad that we left it to the hotel wedding planners to organise – it took the pressure off us and we could just enjoy being in Thailand with our very special people.”

“On the day of the wedding it was just so relaxing and perfect. We got up for a late breakfast, had a massage and I had my nails done with my bridesmaids by the beach, we had a late lunch with friends and then started to get ready about two hours before the ceremony with a glass of Prosecco in hand! What more could you ask for?!”

“I chose a dress from Coast that was very light material. I am so glad that I did as it was incredibly hot! I also spent most of the ceremony in bare feet. This just added to the wonderful beachside, relaxed atmosphere that I wanted to create. There was an option to have your hair and make-up done by the beauticians at the hotel however I decided that I was going to do my own make-up and my lovely bridesmaid Emma did my hair for me!”

“Our wedding was very budget friendly and we had a fantastic holiday out of it too! I wouldn’t do it any other way.”
