Guest Blogger Of The Month – Make Every Moment Count

01/11/2013 |

You Mean The World To Me has been featured on the fantastic wedding planning website as Guest Blogger of the Month!

Throughout October has been sharing our destination wedding advice with their readers and here’s the final article for you to enjoy…

One of the best things about hosting a wedding abroad is that you get to spend an extended amount of quality time with your nearest and dearest. However, planning in extra meet-ups around your wedding day need not just be for destination weddings.

When guests finally reach your wedding location they’re going be tired from travelling, hungry, thirsty and looking for a pick-me-up. What better way to greet visitors and get them in the mood for the forthcoming nuptials than with a welcome get-together? For guests who arrive the day before a local wedding, arrange a time for everyone to meet at a lovely pub or at the hotel bar to enjoy a well-deserved tipple.

Flying away to have a destination day? Make every moment count and arrange daytime activities, make reservations for tasty evening meals and pick out the best bars for relaxing together over cocktails, giving the whole party a chance to properly unwind and get to know each other before the big day.

Organise a soiree for your first day as a married couple. Guests will love catching up and chatting through the events from the day before as well as getting to see the bride and groom again rather than having to say goodbye on the wedding night. It is also a lovely time for you newlyweds as you’ll be feeling much more relaxed and ready to enjoy a stress-free gathering. Hire out a small bar for the night after a destination day or organise a great hangover lunch or hog roast the day after a home wedding.

Printing or emailing an itinerary for the gatherings along with any extra details the wedding party might need during their time away, will ensure that everybody will always know where the party is at.
