Serving up signature cocktails is a great way to greet your wedding guests at your reception and what could be a better ingredient for your destination wedding drinks than the classic celebration choice – champagne!


There are many marvelous mixtures out there that incorporate fabulous fizz, but this week’s Friday Five focuses on timeless tipples that are traditional to countries from around the world.


A champagne signature cocktail will always go down well with your thirsty wedding guests, but the drink you hand out can be country and travel themed as well – perfect if you’re getting married abroad.

Bucks Fizz

The traditional Buck’s Fizz originated in London. It was named after the London Buck’s Club where it was invented as an excuse to start drinking early! Known as the Mimosa in the US, this simple pick-me-up is a great way to start a wedding celebration or any pretty party.

  • 1 bottle Pinot Noir
  • 1 cup Sparkling Wine
  • 1/4 cup Grand Marnier
  • 1 cup sliced strawberries
  • 1 cup blackberries
  • 2 blood oranges (sliced)
  • Lemon slices (optional)
  • Lime slices (optional)
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1/4 cup sugar





Peach Bellini

The bellini was invented in Venice and is one of Italy’s most popular cocktails. Add a sweet twist to this elegant concoction with a drop of light and refreshing peach puree.

  • 2 ripe peaches, seeded and diced
  • 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 bottle chilled prosecco sparkling wine






There is conflicting information regarding where this festive cocktail originated so it is sitting under Mexico purely since the pretty poinsettia plant is native to Mexico! This romantic red cocktail is traditionally served up at Christmas or Thanksgiving, so it would make a delicious drink for a wintertime wedding.
