Ralizabeth & Junior ♥ New Jersey, USA

You can’t beat a warm and sunny day in the park with your beau; lazing on a blanket, catching some rays and enjoying a glass of vino…or two. It also makes a super cute setting for a picnic engagement shoot.
Ralizabeth and Junior chose to mark their engagement with pictures in the park as it is a special place for them, as are all of the precious props in their photos, even down to Ralizabeth’s shoes. This gorgeous pair have such a lovely long distance love story, it will seriously melt your heart. Over to Ralizabeth anyway for her to tell you their sentimental story…
“We met while I was vacationing in Puerto Rico in 2007. Junior was my cousin’s best friend. We exchanged numbers and became the best of friends, me living in New Jersey and him in Puerto Rico. We would talk every single day for about two years. In those two years of friendship, he and I both went through so much individually and I came up with the idea of him visiting me. He did and we realized we were in love with each other. That led to another two years of a long distance relationship (with us going back and forth only a number of times) until he moved to New Jersey in May of 2011 to be with me.”
“Junior proposed to me in June of 2013 in his tiny studio apartment by tricking me to go there one night. He said he left the coffee pot on before going to work and I had to go turn it off before the building caught on fire. I truly believed him! When I got to his apartment, he had the hallway decorated in rose petals and had pictures of us and notes taped on the walls. I walked in and there were candles and rose petals everywhere. He got down on his knee and said ‘you waited long enough…will you marry me’.”
“The reason I chose a picnic in the park for our engagement shoot is because on Junior’s first visit to New Jersey, we packed up a basket (the same one in the pictures) and had a picnic in the park. Some of the props used in the shoot belong to me or my family. The white lace shoes are my mom’s wedding shoes. The vintage gold box is my grandmother’s. The ukulele was a gift from me to him on our first Christmas together. I love things to be meaningful.”
“We got married last November and we had an intimate ceremony in a castle in Ponce, Puerto Rico with only our parents and my sister in attendance. We chose to go back to our little island, where we met, to get married. He actually took me to that castle while we were dating one of the times I went to visit him!”
